The use of coefficient μ or m is well known in hydraulics. However there exist some uncertainties in the value to be assigned in practice. The author costs some doubt on the notion that the some coefficient is used for two similar gates, but which have different flow directions post them. In the present work, the values of the coefficients are determined by conducting experiments in the Hydraulics Laboratory ITB, employing scaled model of a widely used gate in a plume.
The present work of oxygen consumption in Gadus callarias and Gadus virens shows that there is a connection between the body size and the acclimation time required for reaching a "normal" level of metabolism after being transferred to another aquarium (fig.: 1, 2, 3 & 4). The oxygen consumption under standard condition shows that there is a clear linear regression between the two variable used. However, the significant coefficient does not exclude the possibility of a difference in oxygen consumption in relation to the weight between small fish and bigger ones.

It was shown recently that crude extracts prepared from the leaves of Andrographis paniculata Nees have a significant hypoglycaemic effect when given orally to rabbits as well as to normal and diabetic persons (2). In the course of further investigations, the effect of the extract on cell respiration was studied. Bovine heart muscle homogenates were used for the experiments. Oxygen uptake was followed in a Warburg apparatus at 30°C with air as the gas phase. In the absence of added substrate the homogenate showed a considerable oxygen uptake, most probably due to the oxidation of endogenous…
The occultation of the multiple star Beta Scorpio by Jupiter was observed visually and photographically with the 24"-twin telescope of the Bosscha Observatory. The photographic records obtained by S.M. Larson, using the instrument of the Bosscha Observatory, provided support to a scale height greater than 8 km. The Lembang visual measurement is shown to be consistent with other observations, taken from other observatories.
